Redlands Garden Share at Oakland St Community Garden

For their May garden share, the Redlands Garden Share group met at the Oakland St Community Gardens in Alexandra Hills. Tucked away in Oakland St behind the Aldi, for 21yrs Oakland St gardens have been growing connections, gardens and skills.

Oakland St focuses on providing a safe, relaxed, supportive and enjoyable environment for people of all ages and abilities to participate in a range of activities that improve health, learning and community building.  It's a great place to escape from the noise and commotion all around. Open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9am-12pm, members of the gardens can share in the produce grown. Redlands Garden Share members brought along the usual assortments of seasonal produce to divvy up between those present, along with the Shares seed bank and seedlings. Members of Oakland St Gardens led a tour around the space, showing the food forest, annual beds, kids corner and plant nursery and put on a lovely morning tea.
